Quick answer
Hostinger Premium is the cheaper of the two at $2.99/mo against $3.99/mo for Bluehost Starter, but it needs 48 months paid upfront. Pick Bluehost Starter if you want 10 sites and a shorter 36-month commitment, and note that Hostinger's 2026 Black Friday sale runs October 19 to December 14, 2026. - Hostinger's official FAQ puts its 2026 Black Friday sale at October 19 to December 14, 2026. As of October 13, its Black Friday hosting page showed the same prices as its regular pricing page.
- Bluehost has not announced 2026 Black Friday terms, so its plan page is the price to go by.
- Upfront cash is close: $143.52 for Hostinger Premium (48 months) and about $143.64 for Bluehost Starter (36 months, our own calculation of $3.99 Ă— 36, not a Bluehost figure). Hostinger's term runs a year longer.
- Both plans renew at several times the promo rate: Hostinger Premium from $2.99 to $10.99 per month, Bluehost Starter from $3.99 to $9.99.
- Both give a 30-day refund on hosting, but neither refunds the free domain in full: Hostinger does not refund it at all, and Bluehost deducts a non-refundable domain fee at the domain's regular cost.
Our picks

Premium costs $2.99/mo, shown against a crossed-out $11.99 list price, and is billed as $143.52 for 48 months. It covers 3 websites, 20 GB SSD storage, weekly backups, a free domain for the first year and two mailboxes per site (free for year one). Skip it if you need more than 3 sites or can't commit to four years of prepayment; Hostinger Unlimited ($3.99/mo, $191.52 for 48 months) adds unlimited sites and daily backups.

Cons
- Renews at $10.99/mo, and the page does not name the renewal term
- The lowest rate needs 48 months paid upfront

Starter costs $3.99/mo on a 36-month term, which comes to about $143.64 by our own math ($3.99 Ă— 36). It allows 10 websites on 10 GB NVMe, with a free domain for year one and a 30-day money-back guarantee. Skip it if you want phone support, which Starter does not include, or if you dislike a big renewal jump.

When does Hostinger's 2026 Black Friday sale start, and will prices drop?
Hostinger's FAQ on its official Black Friday page says the 2026 sale runs from October 19 to December 14, 2026. As of October 13 it hasn't started. Discounts apply automatically with no coupon, and the domain deals share the dates, for example a .com for $0.01 in year one (regular $19.99).
The page titled "Black Friday web hosting deals 2026" showed the same prices as the regular web hosting page when we checked on October 13. The sale is scheduled; the price on the page has not changed yet. Look at the cart again after October 19 before you pay.
Bluehost has not announced 2026 terms. Its blog post on the 2025 sale said "from $1.99/month" during November 20-30 and "up to 81%" off, while the same post's table says "up to 70%". Bluehost's own figures disagree, so go by the plan page.
Hostinger Premium vs Bluehost Starter: which costs less?
Hostinger Premium is $1 a month cheaper: $2.99 against $3.99. The terms differ, though. Premium is $143.52 for 48 months. Bluehost's page shows only $3.99/mo on a 36-month term, which works out to about $143.64 by our own calculation. You hand over about the same cash up front, and Hostinger's term runs a year longer.
The step up is wider on Bluehost. Hostinger Unlimited is $3.99/mo ($191.52 for 48 months) with unlimited sites and 50 GB NVMe. Bluehost Business is $6.99/mo on a 36-month term (about $251.64 by our math) with 50 sites and 50 GB NVMe. You can compare the Hostinger plans here or see Bluehost's official pricing page.
None of these totals include domain renewal after year one or taxes. Hostinger's Cloud Startup plan is cloud hosting, a different product, so it is not in the table.
Which plan fits which site?
A freelancer with one portfolio site and a small blog fits Hostinger Premium: 3 sites, 20 GB SSD and the lower monthly rate. A consultant with six small client sites needs Bluehost Starter's 10-site limit, or a bigger Hostinger plan.
- Pick Hostinger Premium if you run up to 3 sites, can prepay 48 months and want the lowest monthly price.
- Pick Bluehost Starter if you need up to 10 sites, prefer 36 months over 48 and want the $9.99 renewal rate published in writing.
- Look beyond Premium and Starter if you want daily backups (Hostinger Unlimited has them) or phone support, which Bluehost Starter does not include.
How do you avoid the renewal price trap on a hosting deal?
Hostinger Premium goes from $2.99 to $10.99 per month, and Bluehost Starter from $3.99 to $9.99. Before you pay:
- Find the renewal price for your term. Bluehost's shared hosting price help article lists Starter at $15.99 monthly, $11.99 on 12 months and $9.99 on 36 months. Hostinger's page shows $10.99 for Premium without naming the renewal term, and its crossed-out $11.99 is a list price, not the renewal rate.
- Put the renewal date in your calendar. Hostinger's 30-day guarantee also covers renewals of web, cloud and Agency hosting plans. It excludes domain renewals and ccTLDs such as .us.
- Price the domain separately. The free domain lasts one year. At Bluehost it needs a 12- or 36-month term and must be claimed within 90 days.
- Know the refund catch. Bluehost deducts a non-refundable domain fee at the domain's regular cost from refunds if the plan came with a free domain. Hostinger's refund policy says free domains in deals can't be refunded.
- Match the term to your plans. A long prepayment saves money only if the site is still running at the end. After 30 days there is no refund.
FAQ
Does Hostinger have a Black Friday deal in 2026?
Yes. Hostinger's official FAQ says the sale runs October 19 to December 14, 2026, with discounts applied automatically and no coupon. Its Black Friday hosting page showed the regular prices when we checked on October 13, so look at the cart once the sale starts.
Is Hostinger or Bluehost cheaper?
Hostinger Premium is cheaper per month: $2.99 against $3.99 for Bluehost Starter. Upfront cost is close, $143.52 for 48 months versus about $143.64 for 36 months by our own calculation. Bluehost allows 10 sites, Hostinger Premium 3.
What happens to the price when the promo term ends?
The plan renews at a higher rate. Hostinger Premium renews at $10.99/mo and Unlimited at $16.99/mo. Bluehost Starter renews at $9.99/mo on a 36-month term or $11.99/mo on 12 months. Domain renewals are billed separately.
Is a 36- or 48-month hosting term worth it?
A long term lowers the monthly rate but ties up cash, and refunds end after 30 days. Renewal then jumps, from $2.99 to $10.99 at Hostinger or $3.99 to $9.99 at Bluehost. It suits a site you are sure to keep for years.
Can I get a refund on a hosting deal?
Both give 30 days. Hostinger refunds hosting only if you cancel within 30 days and won't refund a free domain. Bluehost refunds hosting fees but deducts a non-refundable domain fee at the domain's regular cost if the plan came with a free domain.
